Finding friends

Discovering/finding my friends and contacts is the most useful part of having an app like this for me. I can't use my FB or Google Contacts to see who else is already on this app, or send invites to folks who aren't. I'd love to do that.

Please add start and end dates to past trips and add counters to show the number of days spent in each country, in Europe and outside the US. This would allow us to make sure we are following each jurisdiction’s regulations on taxes and visas.

Notifications for home town

I would to see some sort of badges/icons for either users that are “experts” in a certain city, or also could be gamified, like giving badges for users who have visited all countries in Europe or something similar

Adding Countries to Wishlist

overall there should be an easier way to add counties to wishlist. Currently we have to add counties one by one. And after we add one country to wishlist, we need to delete the content of the previous add when the text box should be cleared after we add the country to wishlist.

When I click on the percentage of countries I visited, would be cool if we could see some sort of more detailed stats. Also would be a nice way to understand how many countries do you consider for this calculation as many people strive to check all countries but some count 194/195/197.. Also, I couldn't find all the micro countries I intended to find

Back button should take to profile

When I'm on any tab that's not the profile screen it would be nice if when I pressed my phone's back button if it would take me to the profile screen instead of closing the app. This also increases user retention as they have to press back twice to exit ;)

Variations of trips

Tentative trips for planning I’d get use out of a feature where I can add a “pending” trip — not sure on phrasing. This would be tentative dates with a specific country or location. Main example being, I’m free for July thinking near Italy and would love for anyone to join. With that, the ability to give some indication that “hey, I would love for others to join me”. Thinking a badge in the Upcoming Trip cell that makes it obvious or even a message that gets sent to my friends who don’t have plans on those dates yet. An addition to that feature would be where you can add specific people to a tentative trip. For example, if I want to do an expert level hike, I may only want to ask friends who are expert hikers to join me. (Might be too specific and don’t necessarily think it’s worth building this part anytime soon.) Previous trips Think it would be nice if past trips were moved to a small button on the profile screen that opens a full list.

Remove visited country from wishlist

Is the expected behavior to automatically remove a country from my wishlist, if I recently completed a trip there? Trip dets were added and it now marks the country as visited in the map, but it has not removed it from wishlist. Should I remove it manually?

No way to turn off new feature

Did NOT agree to suddenly have random people I’ve never met know my current location and let them message me, and there appears to be no way to change that setting. It’s deeply creepy. A key feature of the app for me has been that while people can see I’m on it, only people I literally know can see my profile and my locations (current and upcoming).

As a user, I’d like to include date range(s) for wishlist items. A tagging system would be cool too. For example, adding the tag of “in the area” + date range could help move along plans with other users.

Request to join trip

Some way to easily add a cruise

I didn't pay attention when creating my account and I'd like to modify my username. this should be part of profile editing

Add hashtags to profile and trips

add searchable hashtag support (ex: #remoteyear, #nomadlist, #wifitribe, #couchsurfing, etc) so search is more useful. maybe I want to find fellow vegetarians or catholics or singles, etc add autocompletion when adding a hashtag to prevent adding similar tags or misspelled tags make the display of hashtags clickable so you automatically search by that tag

Options for getting notified

There should be more notifications sub options, for example, choosing to get notified if: -A friend is in a country that shares borders with the one I'll be in - A friend is in a X amount of kilometers radius (choosing that if someone is within a 200km radius of me, I'll get notified) this helps with smaller countries and weird shaped ones that might not share borders but are very close to each other

Clear Unread Message Notifications

When you add a country, you automatically receive messages about who has been there in your inbox. This is nice, but realistically I don’t want to individually message all of those people. I’d love a “clear unread” button in the message view so that I don’t have to individually open each message to remove the notification pop-up/bold status. P.S. love the transparency of this feedback feature!

Add profile pic to an invite

Right now, the invite link looks too much like spam or phishing, adding a profile pic and a custom message would make it seem legit

Can't add countries to "Where I've Been"

I can select a new country but there doesn't seem to be any way to enter it and backing out clears the entry

Clear the search for the Wishlist

Clear the search bar after adding a country to the Wishlist, it's highly unlikely that the same characters will be used again the next time. I always have to clear it manually.

Can't accept friend requests

I receive a notification that I have a friend request. I tap it. I am taken to the app but nowhere does it list the friend request or show it as approved. I sent one too to the same person and they didn't get a notification. I'm on Android.

Location Recommendations

Guessing this would be more down the road but think it would be valuable whenever. I think it would be cool to add my recommendations to a city. When some adds an upcoming trip or views a city, it will pull in all of their friend's recommendations.

Cant click out of keyboard to progress

Similar to the login issue I had yesterday, there’s no way to click out of the keyboard view when adding a note to a wishlist trip, so the submit/finish button is blocked.
